About us
I’m Laura Hamilton, a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, SSI Instructor, Swim Instructor, Autism Swim Instructor, and lifelong ocean advocate. After years of travelling, teaching, and witnessing the transformative power of water, I founded Just Dive In CIC to make the magic of aquatics truly accessible to everyone.
From the very beginning, my husband Euan Hamilton has been a vital part of this journey — from physically building our Paisley centre to supporting the delivery of sessions, logistics, and everything in between. Together, we’ve poured our time, skills, and personal savings into creating a space where everyone can thrive in, on, under, near, or around water.
Our journey is also deeply personal. I experienced a life-altering back injury and pancreatitis, both of which changed everything, including leaving me with Type 3c Diabetes. Living with long-term pain and navigating health conditions, I experienced first-hand what it feels like to be denied access to services and support — to be excluded by environments that weren’t built with people like me in mind. To be told 'No'
That experience fuels everything we do. Just Dive In CIC exists because we believe no one should be left out — whether due to disability, neurodivergence, trauma, confidence, or circumstance.
Based in Paisley, we’ve built a warm, inclusive aquatic hub where people of all ages and abilities can build confidence, explore, and heal through water. From scuba and mermaiding to swimming, flotation, crafts, and safety training — everything we offer is designed to remove barriers, not create them.
What do we do
Just Dive In CIC is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization run by me, Laura Hamilton, my husband Euan, and a small team of passionate instructors and helpers.
Together, we deliver:
- Inclusive swim, snorkel, scuba, mermaid, float, craft & safety sessions
- Sensory-friendly experiences for autistic & neurodivergent individuals
- Trauma-informed, welcoming spaces for adults, families & groups
- Affordable access through grants, donations & reinvested revenue
Our Impact So Far:
- 🧍♀️ 500+ participants supported in the last 12 months
- ♿ 64 people with disabilities or long-term conditions took part in 10 dedicated group sessions from Feb-Oct
- 👩👩👧👦 Over 2,000 session hours delivered annually, 5–6 days a week
- 💧 £140,000+ personally invested by Laura & Euan to build our accessible aquatic centre
- 🏊 Multiple year-round programs spanning swim, scuba, mermaid, float & safety
Our work reaches disabled people, neurodivergent individuals, those with long-term health conditions, women needing women-only provision, carers, and families in local SIMD areas. We operate with a
non-profit motivation — every
penny goes back into our community.
Why We Exist
Water is more than a skill — it’s a lifeline, a confidence builder, and a pathway to joy. For many of our participants, stepping into the pool is the first step toward connection, healing, or a lifelong love of the ocean.
In Scotland, accidental drowning remains one of the leading causes of preventable death, and over 1 in 4 children with additional support needs miss out on swimming lessons. We’re changing that — by creating spaces where everyone can learn, explore, and belong.
Our Vision
To create a Scotland where aquatic therapy, safety, and joy are available to all — removing financial, sensory, cultural, and confidence barriers. We’re building something lasting: a community where the water belongs to everyone.
