🧩 Case Study 1: Hope for Autism – Building Confidence Through Water
Background:
Hope for Autism is a local charity supporting neurodivergent children and their families. Many of their young people struggle to access mainstream swimming lessons due to sensory sensitivities, anxiety, or previous negative experiences.
How they came to Just Dive CIC:
Hope for Autism connected with us to explore tailored aquatic sessions for their families. They were seeking a warm, private environment where children could learn water safety and build confidence at their own pace.
What happened:
Our sensory-friendly pool, small group sizes, and experienced instructors created a calm and supportive atmosphere. The children were able to progress gradually, using floats, games, and gentle introductions to water skills.
Impact:
Children who once avoided the water now look forward to their sessions. Parents have reported improved confidence, emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of inclusion. For Hope for Autism families, the pool has become a safe and joyful space.

🧩 Case Study: ASD Ultimate Warriors – Confidence and Water Skills for Neurodivergent Young People
Background:
ASD Ultimate Warriors is a registered charity in Paisley that supports children, young adults, and families affected by autism. Many of their participants struggle to access mainstream aquatic programmes due to sensory challenges, anxiety, or lack of tailored support.
How they came to Just Dive CIC:
Over the summer, ASD Ultimate Warriors engaged with us for a block of aquatic sessions, wanting a safe, understanding environment for their young people to experience water skills, confidence building, and inclusion.
What happened:
Four participants from the Ultimate Warriors group took part in structured lessons led by our qualified volunteer instructors. Throughout the block, they were introduced to foundational water safety, floating, breathing techniques, and early swim movements — all delivered with sensitivity to their sensory needs.
Impact:
The progress was heartwarming. Each child showed growth in confidence, comfort in the water, and willingness to try new things. Parents and guardians were thrilled with how naturally the participants integrated, how much fun they had, and how keen they are to return. ASD Ultimate Warriors have already indicated they intend to repeat this collaboration in future blocks.

🧒 Case Study: Action for Children – Creating Safe Spaces for Growth and Confidence
Background:
Action for Children is a national charity that supports vulnerable children, young people, and families across Scotland. Many of the families they work with face complex challenges, and the children often need additional support to feel safe and included in group activities — especially around water.
How they came to Just Dive CIC:
Through local partnership working, Action for Children referred a group of children to us for a block of tailored aquatic sessions. They were looking for a calm, structured environment where the children could build water confidence, develop skills, and have positive experiences outside of their usual settings.
What happened:
Over the block, our experienced instructors welcomed each child at their own pace, adapting activities to meet individual needs. The warm, private pool and small group setting created the sense of safety and trust required for them to relax and engage. Through games, gentle techniques, and patient support, the children developed fundamental swimming and water safety skills.
Impact:
The change was clear. Children who were initially hesitant became enthusiastic participants, smiling and splashing confidently. Parents and Action for Children staff noted improvements in confidence, emotional wellbeing, and social interaction. The sessions were so successful that Action for Children expressed their desire to continue working with us on future blocks.

🌍 Case Study: Pachedu – Fostering Inclusion Through Aquatics
Background:
Pachedu is a Renfrewshire-based charity that promotes diversity, equality, tolerance, and dignity for minority ethnic communities. Their work focuses on reducing isolation, improving wellbeing, and fostering cultural understanding and inclusion across generations.
How they came to Just Dive CIC:
Pachedu approached us to explore aquatic sessions for their members as part of their wider health and community inclusion activities. Many of their participants had limited access to swimming opportunities due to cultural, confidence, or practical barriers, and they wanted to create a safe, respectful, and welcoming space to experience the water.
What happened:
Over a block of sessions, participants from a range of cultural backgrounds joined us in our warm, private pool. Our instructors adapted sessions to respect cultural preferences — including modest swimwear, private settings, and culturally sensitive communication. The sessions focused on gentle water confidence, basic skills, and fun, inclusive activities that brought everyone together.
Impact:
Participants expressed increased confidence, comfort, and a sense of belonging in the water. Many experienced swimming for the first time in an environment where they felt fully respected. Pachedu reported that the sessions supported their goals of reducing isolation, improving wellbeing, and building community connections. The success of this collaboration has laid the groundwork for future partnership blocks.
